Tyler is the son of Vic and Teresa Havens. He has one sister, Tammy, and one brother, Tanner. 

Tyler has been an avid sportsman (in all aspects!), since he was a small child. He was a three sport athlete, lettering in football, wrestling and baseball. During his three years of varsity football he was voted Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2008, Most Valuable Defensive Player in 2009 and Week #9 Most Valuable Player, 2010 by his teammates. His senior year in football his team made school history winning a District championship and capping a 21-2 record for his junior and seniors. 

In addition to sports, Tyler loves to hunt, trap and fish. He was a three year member of the National Honor Society and a four year member of the Mecosta County Youth Advisory Committee.
