As a freshman Travis played full back and middle linebacker and started both ways. He played varsity for the next three years. As a sophomore he was a defensive end. In his sophomore year, the last year of the 99 year old City League, his team was City Champions, District Champions and lost in the Semi-finals. In his junior year he was a defensive tackle. He was injured in the second game of the season and knee surgery kept him out the rest of the season. The team was OK Blue Division Champions and made it to the second round of the playoffs. As a senior Travis started both ways, as defensive end and offensive tackle. The team was OK Blue Division Champions, and made it to the second round of the playoffs again. In Travis’ three varsity years the team’s record was 21-0 in their Division. Travis was a team captain and won the team’s lift-a-thon as a senior.
Travis also played basketball his freshman year and earned three letters in track where he threw shot and disc. The team won the MITCA State Finals three years in a row.
Travis thanked, “my parents for supporting me in everything I do. My sister and grandparents for coming to cheer me on at all of my games. All the coaches I have had throughout the years, for pushing me and molding me into the player I am today. Especially Coach Rohn for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play at the next level.”
Travis will attend Northwood University in the fall, and play college ball.
