Ron was a two-year starter at tailback for the Big Reds. As a junior, he rushed for 1057 yards on 151 carries and scored 11 touchdowns. In spite of struggling with injuries, Ron set a school and Monroe County record when he rushed for 376 yards and 6 touchdowns vs. Grosse Ile.
As a senior, Ron helped lead his team to a league championship and the third round of the playoffs while rushing for 2501 yards and 29 touchdowns. The 2501 mark is a Washtenaw and Monroe County record and ranks 17th in state history. Ron had six 200-yard games as a senior and two 300-yard games, including a season high 330 yards vs. Monroe St. Mary’s Catholic Central. He scored 18 of his touchdowns on runs of 47 yards or longer. Ron also kicked off and returned kick-offs for the Big Reds.
In addition to becoming Milan’s sixth All State tailback since 1989, Ron is an accomplished sprinter for the Big Reds league champion track team. As a junior, he was Huron League champion in 4 events; the 100 and 200 meter sprints, the long jump, and a relay. He has run an official 10.56 clocking in the 100 meters, giving him the record for that race in Monroe County and at Milan High School.
Ron will attend Saginaw State University on a football scholarship.
Ron thanked his family, his school, his community and his coaches and teammates for all the help, support and friendship they have given him.
