Richie has played football since eighth grade. When he came to high school he learned that Cousino was about hard work and dedication. The weight room became Richie’s new home and he learned the value of hard work. Richie’s hard work paid off when he became a two-year starter and a captain his senior year for the Patriots. Richie was voted MVP defensive line his junior and senior year. He also led the defensive line in tackles and sacks both years.

Richie also competed in varsity track for three years as a sprinter and placed second in the league for the 100 meter dash. Richie has signed to play football for Northern Michigan University and will pursue a degree in criminal justice.

Richie thanked his family for supporting him. He also thanked the Brandreth family for helping him and supporting him. He mostly wanted to thank head coach Mike Powell and the coaching staff and players for all their help and great memories he will be taking with him. Richie said, “I was fortunate to have played with such a great group of guys because they were like one big family.”
