As an integral member of the football team, Paul started as a linebacker and offensive guard and earned three varsity letters. He helped his teams to a 27-6 varsity career record including three playoff appearances, a conference championship, and district and regional titles. He was the Ramblers leading tackler the past two years amassing over 300 tackles, 5 interceptions, 4 fumble recoveries, and 1 blocked punt.
Selected by his teammates, Paul was a two-year captain. In 2002, his teammates voted him as the Defensive MVP. In 2003, he was voted as the team MVP, won the Paul Whaler award, and along with six other players received the outstanding lineman award. He was also named to the school’s all century team.
Paul also won two varsity letters on the ski team. He was also a member of the Boyne City Honor Roll with a 3.6 gpa, ranking 15th in his graduating class.
