High School Coach: John Maltese
High School: Lakeland, A
College: Wayne State University
Nate is the oldest son of Philip and Virginia Theaker. He has two younger brothers Nolan (13) and Lucas (9), and a younger sister Stella (7).
Playing for the Lakeland Eagles was the best experience of his life. Nate started his football career as a Lakeland Bronco in the youth football league, and played all four years in high school as an Eagle. Nate started his varsity career as a junior, and was named the starter on the D-Line. As a senior, Nate made tremendous growth as a player, and in the pre-season was named a Team Captain and was ranked 19th in the Oakland Press’ Top 50 Players to Watch in Oakland County for 2010. After a great senior season playing both Offensive and Defensive Tackle, Nate was named Offensive MVP, and Eagle of the Year by the Lakeland Football coaches, and Athletic Director Greg Michaels. He also made the 2010 Oakland County Dream Team and All State honors for Offensive Line by the Detroit News.
Nate played basketball as a freshman and sophomore, and throughout his high school career he power-lifted and went through strength and conditioning training.
Nate is honored to have played for such a great football staff at Lakeland, and he is especially grateful to have such a wonderful head coach in John Maltese, and offensive line coach James Loisel. Most importantly Nate is thankful for his strength and conditioning, and defensive line coach Sean Williamson. “Coach Williamson is the reason I am where I am today. He helped me reach my physical potential as well as making me an all around better football player and person. He has been with me throughout my entire varsity career, and he has helped me every step of the way.” Nate is grateful for the opportunity to continue his football career at Wayne State University.
