Nate started playing football in the sixth grade for the Buena Vista Knights. He started attending Arthur Hill High School in the ninth grade and quickly became a prominent athlete in the building. In his breakout senior year, Nate rushed for 1284 yards, had over 8 yards a carry, and scored a total of 14 touchdowns.
Nate’s high school athletic activities included varsity football, varsity basketball, and varsity track and field. His honors and awards include: Stand Up Student; In football as a senior, Nate was varsity captain, First Team All Conference, Honorable Mention All State, and a member of the Saginaw Dream Team. As a junior he was named Second Team All Conference. In basketball, Nate was First Team All Conference in 2014 and he was Honorable Mention All Conference in Baseball.
Nate’s community service and volunteer activities included spending time with local kid’s camps, senior citizen homes, food drives, and the S.P.A.C.E program. Through participation in athletics, Nate “has developed valuable leadership skills, time management, academic focus, and the will to succeed.” He plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University on a full ride scholarship to play football and major in electrical engineering. He credits his mother Andrea Collins, a father figure, Brian Bowen Sr. and a teacher Mrs. Bobbie Wheatley for their support throughout his high school years.
