Matthew has played tackle football since he was in fifth grade. At Central High School, Matt played defense, offense, special teams and was the place kick holder. He helped lead the Wolves to the state playoffs in 2004. Matt holds the season (10) and career (16) records for interceptions in the history of Bay City Central. He recorded 18 pass break-ups in his senior year. He also holds the record for the most interceptions in one game (4) and won a Golden Helmet for this accomplishment.
Matt is competitive in many sports. He played baseball and basketball at Central. Matt has three letters in track.
Matt thanked his, “Number One Fans, my mom and dad, for always being there for me.” He thanked Coaches Fraser, Rademacher, Zanotti, Hemingway, and Neal for all of the help and support they gave him over the years. He also thanked his football team for all of the memories.
