Having grown up in Florida playing hockey, Kaunda decided to play football his freshmen year of high school after moving to Michigan. He helped his team win the 2005 Division 2 state championship with three interceptions in the final game (one surely to become the legendary ‘one-handed catch’), as well as the 2006 Catholic League Championship. Kaunda completed his senior year with 32 receptions for 636 yards and six touchdowns. On defense he had 65 tackles and three interceptions. In addition to playing offense and defense, Kaunda also was on punt-return and kick-off return.
As a varsity letter winner in football, basketball, and track, Kaunda has excelled in athletics. He will be studying engineering at the University of Toledo in the fall.
Kaunda gave thanks to God, family, teammates coaches, and anyone who has supported him on and off of the football field.
