Justin began playing football in the fifth grade. He was moved up to varsity his sophomore year of high school and became a three-year starter. His sophomore year he started at defensive tackle. He started at center his junior and senior years. During his junior year, Justin helped lead his team to their first playoff victory ever.
Justin also wrestled at heavyweight for three years. He was a regional qualifier his junior year but missed most of his senior year because of a knee injury. He also threw shot put and discus in track for three years. He made the top 10 list for shot put at Hastings High School.
He said, “I would like to thank God for giving me all the tools I needed for my success, my family and friends for always supporting me, and all of my coaches for pushing me to be the best that I can be. I want to give a special thank you to Coach Rademacher for dedicating so much time making me and all my teammates’ better football players by pushing us in the weight room, to Coach Gabe McCarty for dedicating so much time making me a better wrestler and thrower, and to my brother Josh for encouraging me and always being somebody I could look up to.”
