John, has been on the football field since he was eight years old and played in the Gull Lake Youth Football program. John has received three varsity letters in football, along with many other awards. John has always been looked upon as a leader, both on and off the field.
He was selected by Coach Blaesser to represent the football program on Gull Lake’s Captains Council. He was a member of the 1100 pound weight lifting club, and elected team captain by his teammates.
John also received two varsity letters in basketball, along with All-Conference Honors and being nominated Team Captain. He is his 4-H Club’s president, a member of National Honor Society, and was Gull Lake High School’s Homecoming King. John maintained a 3.87 G.P.A. throughout high school.
John gave a special thanks to his “family, all of my friends and teammates, and supporters.” He also thanked the Gull Lake Community, Athletic Department, Coach Blaesser, Coach Keck, Coach Meadows, Coach Boerman, and “everyone else who has pushed, and supported me throughout my football career, to be the best I possibly can be.
