Jason started playing football when he was about five years old. His mother “made me play to drain out my energy.” He played little league football then middle school ball and then on the freshman team. After his freshman season he skipped JV football and went straight to varsity, where started for for three years. The Big Reds’ record during Jason’s three varsity seasons was 37-2.
Jason was named to All Area, All Conference, All State, and All State Dream Teams. He was voted team Most Valuable Player two years in a row and was named Game MVP in the state championship game. Jason led the team in tackles and rushing yards in his senior year. During his career he had over 2,786 yards rushing, 25 touchdowns, 193.5 tackles, 11.5 sacks, forced 8 fumbles and had 2 fumble recovery. The Big Reds were state champs in 2006 and 2008, Jason’s sophomore and senior seasons.
