Assistant Coach Jason Carpenter
Wyandotte Roosevelt High School
Jason Carpenter is a native of Wyandotte, Michigan. His family members are Larry (Father), Carol (Mother), Jamie (Brother), Jeff (Brother), and Jennifer (Sister). He attended Wyandotte Roosevelt High School and graduated in 1996. After high school, Jason received a scholarship to Wayne State University. He has both a bachelors and masters degree in education.
Jason was a defensive lineman at WSU from 1996 – 2000. During his tenure at WSU he was named G.L.I.A.C defensive player of the week once for his performance against Michigan Tech in October of 1998. He finished his career at W.S.U. 2nd all-time in tackles for loss with (48), and 6th all-time in career sacks (24.5).
Jason currently teaches physical education at Davidson Middle School in Southgate. He has coached high school football for the past 5 years (Taylor Truman 2001-2005). He has recently accepted the defensive coordinator position at his high school alma mater Wyandotte Roosevelt; with new head coach Ron Adams.
Jason thanked his family for supporting him throughout his playing and coaching careers. Jason said, “I am very exited and honored to be coaching for the East All Star Team. The opportunity to work with the very best players in the state of Michigan and coaching with some of the most knowledgeable and accomplished coaches in the state is going to be a rewarding experience for me.”
