Jared is the son of John and Lorraine Wangler. His father, John, played quarterback at The University of Michigan. His brother, Jack, is a freshman who plays football at Michigan. His sister, Halle, is a junior who plays basketball at Michigan. Sister, Sierra, is a freshman at Farmington Hills Mercy. Brother, Erik, is a sophomore at The University of Cincinatti and sister, Jaleeza, is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
Jared transferred to DeLaSalle as a sophomore and started for two years as a linebacker and receiver and also played on special teams. He was co-captain in his senior year. Jared will continue his football career at The University of Michigan and plans to major in sports medicine.
He also played basketball at DeLaSalle for three years but not his senior season due to a shoulder injury.
Jared thanked, “my family, especially my parents for the great support in everything I do. My brother, Jack, for being a roll model to me and for pushing me to be the best athlete and person I can be, my grandparents for always being at every one of my games and for cheering me on, my high school football coaches, especially Coach Verska, for not only teaching me the game of football, but ‘the game of life’ as well. He has made me a better player and a better man.” Jared also thanked, “Lance Long, my trainer, for putting in countless hours with me in the off-season, so I could accomplish my goals. Most importantly, I thank God for making all of this possible and always being there for me.”
