6’5″ 274

High School Coach: Aaron Metz

High School: Howell, A

College: Grand Valley State University

Jim is the son of Barry and Pattie Walsh. He has an older sister, Kayte, a graduate of Emerson College and a writer in the television industry. He also has a large support contingent including his grandmother, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jim began playing football at age eight for the Howell Area Junior Football Gold Team. He gained much experience playing every position from center to tight end on the offensive line and nose tackle to end defensively. While playing both ways on the line Jim’s freshman and JV teams enjoyed much success. That team success continued to the varsity level both his junior and senior years with Howell qualifying for the MHSAA playoffs each year. His senior year, Jim anchored an offensive line that paved the way for an offense that had 2,254 yards rushing, 1,501 yards passing and Howell’s first District Championship.

Jim was a four-year letter winner in wrestling. He represented Michigan in the 2009 Cadet National Dual Tournament and at the 2009 National Championships. He played baseball as a freshman and track and field as a junior. He was a member of DECA his senior year.

Jim thanked his parents, grandmother, aunts and uncles for “always being there for support.” He thanked Coaches Ash, Metz, Miller, and Holcomb, as well as Mike Johnson, from Xceleration, for “pushing me to become the athlete I am today.”
