Jake was a two-way starter on the Broncos varsity team for three years in the OK Blue Conference. During that time he helped the Broncos win two conference titles and two district championships. He was honored as “Defensive Lineman of the Year” in 2002 and “Team MVP” in 2003. Both junior and senior years he was honored with “Weightlifter of the Year.” Jake recorded 67 unassisted tackles his senior year.
Jake was also a member of the Bronco varsity track team his freshmen and junior years and played basketball his freshman year. Jake earned three academic letters and had a 3.5 gpa. Apart from school sports, Jake lifts weights, works for a cement contractor, and participates in various church activities.
Jake thanked his family, coaches, team, and all of Coopersville for supporting him and giving him a great football experience. Most importantly Jake said he thanked, “God, who has always been with me and made it possible to have success in many areas.”
Jake is, “excited about the opportunity to be part of the Ferris State University Bulldogs this coming fall.”
