Jake began playing football in sixth grade. At Portland High School Jake and his fellow linemen won both of their lineman challenges his senior year. Jake was a starter on both offense and defense. He was part of the team’s first post-season victory and two league championships.
Jake also participated in basketball and track. As a sophomore he became a starter on the varsity basketball team. He earned All Conference and All County in each of these sports as a junior.
Jake said, “There are so many people who have helped me throughout my lifetime, I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.” Jake thanked his family and friends for all of their love and support. He also thanked his coaches who have helped him “not only to become a better athlete but a better person too.” Jake added, “I also thank the Portland community for supporting me throughout the years and I plan to represent them to the best of my ability at Buffalo.
