Houston Glass is the youngest son of Rachel Humphreys and Jerbri Glass. His older brother, Chase Glass, is a sophomore attending Michigan State University.
Houston began playing Youth Football at age four in Gull Lake. He moved to East Kentwood in the sixth grade and started playing for the Falcon “78’er” program. As a sophomore, Houston was moved up to a starting position on the varsity team as a free safety and running back. That season he led the Falcons in tackles and was given “The Dog Squat Points Award”. During his junior year, Houston played both sides of the ball. On the offensive side, he had 68 carries, for 546 yards and 3 TD’s. On defense, he had 69 tackles and led the Falcons with 7 interceptions and 14 pass break-ups. His senior year was again filled with many personal achievements and he was voted team captain by his teammates. Again playing both sides of the ball, Glass racked-up a total of 1,042 yards and 16 TD’s. Defensively, he accrued 41 tackles and 1 interception. At the team banquet, Houston was awarded the “Offensive MVP” and “Overall MVP” by both his coaching staff and peers.
Houston also ran track. He participated in indoor track and was also a four-year varsity athlete.
Houston said, “Being chosen to play in the All Star game has been a personal dream of mine since I put on my first Falcon uniform! I thank all of my family and friends, especially my mother Rachel Humphreys. She has been there for me since day one and has done everything a single parent can possibly do for their child to be successful in life. Another person that has been like family to me is my head coach, Greg Hudkins. This man has been like a dad to me and has looked over me as if I were one of his own children. Coach Hudkins did things I would never have expected him to do and he never asked for anything in return besides playing hard and doing my best. I respect him more than he will ever know and am glad to have someone like him and his family in my life.” He added, “To all of my EK family and fans, I thank you for always supporting me and encouraging me. Last but not least, I would like to give special thanks to all of my football and track coaches. Collectively, you have always pushed me to do my best and had faith in me since the beginning in becoming the student athlete I am today. I love each and every one of you who helped me, and I wouldn’t be here without any of you. I look forward to playing at The University at Buffalo and will always hold East Kentwood near and dear to my heart.”
