During his three years as a member of the varsity football team, Greg was a three-year starter at middle linebacker, leading the Maples in tackles all three years: 94 (2007), 101 (2008), 171 (2009), with two games of 30 tackles. Greg also finished his career with seven interceptions.
The Adrian Maples finished their 2009 season with a 10-2 record, winning the SEC White championship and District championship. Greg was the 2009 team MVP and was the recipient of the “Battered Hat” award as the team’s hardest hitter.
Greg carried a 3.2 grade point average while also playing three years of varsity baseball and two years of basketball.
Greg thanked his whole family for their support. He also thanked the Adrian Maple coaching staff for helping him succeed on the football field.
