Eric was a two-year starter for the Southgate Titans. In his senior year, he started at both defensive tackle and offensive guard. He also performed kickoffs and extra-points. The Titans reached a new high last year winning their first district championship. It was Southgate’s fifth straight season in the Playoffs. Eric started playing football at the age of eight for the Southgate Jr. Vikings.
Eric lettered in three varsity sports. He was a two-year varsity baseball player and a four-year varsity wrestler. In 2004, the Titan baseball team was a regional qualifier, and won their district title. In 2004, the Titan wrestling team was the Mega Red league champions, and in 2005, they won the District championship.
Eric also excelled in the classroom where he maintained an overall GPA of 3.9. In addition to his playing honors, Eric was also selected to the All Academic Mega Conference in football, wrestling, and baseball for 2004 – 2005, and Division I All-State Academic Baseball team in 2005. He will attend Eastern Michigan University where he will pursue a degree in finance while playing football for the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
Eric thanked all of his coaches, “for their guidance.” He also thanked his friends and family, especially his brothers, “for molding and shaping me into the person I am today.”
