2006 All Star Coach West
Assistant Coach Dave Graff
Crystal Falls Forest Park High School
Coach Graff is a 1985 graduate of Crystal Falls Forest Park. He graduated from Michigan Tech. in 1989 with a BS degree in electrical engineering. While at MTU he played inside linebacker, led the team in tackles and was honored as Tech’s most outstanding freshman male athlete, defensive MVP, Scholastic All American, and defensive captain.
Dave is presently the electrical department supervisor for the City of Crystal Falls. He enjoys spending time with his family: wife of 14 years, Julie; daughter, Gina (10); and son Lee (8). Fishing, football, softball, camping, boating, and snowmobile riding are favorites. Dave also likes to help coach his children’s baseball, football and basketball teams.
Dave’s coaching career started as a graduate assistant linebacker coach his senior year at MTU after sustaining a back injury. He was offered the defensive coordinator position under head coach Bill Santilli at Crystal Falls Forest Park in 1996. Since then Forest Park has produced an overall 84-30 record, 9 straight playoff appearances, 7 conference titles, 4 district titles, 3 regional titles, and 3 state finalists.
Dave feels blessed to have been under the guidance of some of the state’s greatest coaches and promoters. He feels there is nothing more rewarding than to share ones passion for sports with children and young adults. It’s a great privilege and responsibility for all coaches to instruct, discipline, encourage, and hopefully mold today’s youth into hardworking, ethical leaders of the future. To be able to share a week with the best football players in the state and some of the most respected coaches for this year’s all-star game is a tremendous honor and privilege for which Dave is truly grateful.
