Chris started playing football at age seven. His PAL league coaches of the Westside Cubs, “pushed me to become a well-known player around the city.” He said, “My coaches at Detroit Country Day have been great.” Starting in his sophomore year he has been selected All County, two times Honorable Mention All-State and All State as a kick and punt returner in his senior season.
Chris also participated in track and field. He has been All State in track since his freshman year. He ran on two relays that broke many meet records and school records in the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400. During his freshman year, the Yellowjackets won the Division 3 State Championship.
Chris also participated in a Community Service Club. “Being a member of the club helped me to meet new people and put smiles on many people’s faces.”
Chris thanked his Mom, Dad, aunties, and grandparents for helping with sports and school throughout his high school career. “Without them, I wouldn’t have had transportation to practices or money to purchase uniforms. I love you guys.” He also thanked his coaches from all sports, especially the Westside Cubs basketball and football coaches. “Thanks, Coach Mac, Coach Wilson, Coach Keg, Coach Mann, Coach Lep, and the rest of the football team!”
