High School Coach: Eric Redmond
High School, Class: Carleton Airport, A

Charles started playing football at age 10 in the CYO with St. Charles Football. He was a three-year starter on varsity as offensive tackle and guard. His senior year he was a team captain and also started as defensive end.
Charles also varsity lettered in basketball as a sophomore. His junior year he gave up basketball to concentrate on agility, speed, and weight training for football.
Charles thanked his parents, “who have supported me throughout my athletic career and recruiting process,” and all of his coaches, “especially Coach Redmond and Coach Reed, who always pushed me to be my best!” He also thanked George Yarberry, “who believed in me and helped me to find the trainers at Total Performance for agility and speed. Without all of their help and blessing from God,” Charles said, “I would not have the ability to move from high school to Big Ten football. I am truly blessed and forever indebted.”
