Wendell Brown

Inside Linebacker

College: Ball State University

 

Wendell was a three-year starter at the inside linebacker position, and as a senior he started at fullback. As a junior and senior Wendell played the role of the team’s emotional leader and captain. As a junior Wendell was named the team’s Most Improved Player, and as a senior Most Valuable Player. Wendell helped lead the King Crusaders to two straight City Championships and to three state playoff berths. Wendell maintained a 3.3 overall G.P.A. throughout High School. He has three letters in football and three in track and field where he ran the open 100, open 200 and threw the shot put. He also played the role as a junior coach for the Eastside Colts Detroit P.A.L.  Football team where he started his career as a football player at age 7.

 

Wendell said, “I would like to thank God first, for he is the head of my life, for blessing me with life, talent, skill and a good heart. I would also like to thank my family, friends, and teammates for believing in me, encouraging me and supporting me. I would like to thank all of my past and present coaches for preparing me for the physical and mental development for the game and for life. I would like to especially thank my Uncle Raymond Brown for being a positive role model and confidant.” Wendell will continue his football career at Ball State University.
