Scott is the son of Scott and Jenny Wetzel. He has an older sister, Madyson (18), who attends college at Michigan State University, a younger brother, Trevor (15), and a younger sister, Hannelore (13).
Scott started playing tackle football in the sixth grade. In his junior football years he played fullback and outside linebacker. In his freshman year he moved to tight end and remained at outside linebacker. As a senior he was moved to middle linebacker and also played tight end.
In addition to football, Scott participated in Big Brother and Big Sister events and and helped coach his brother in junior football.
As a JV, Scott was named MVP and he repeated this honor as a senior. Scott also received the Scott Pohl award “in honor of a great human being who died in a car accident earlier in his senior year.”
Scott thanked his parents “for supporting me through all my years of
playing and being at every game.” He thanked “my brother and sisters for everything they have done for me through the years.” Scott included a thank you to his grandparents “for supporting me” and “to all of my friends throughout the years.” He thanked my coaches “for helping me and teaching me how to be a better player and my grandma and grandpa Hack for supporting me.”
