Tyler started playing football in the third grade. In high school, he played one year of JV and was moved up to varsity his sophomore year. In his last season, Tyler led the Rams in all-purpose yards, receiving yards, and was second in tackles. His contributions helped his team win both a conference and district championship. Tyler was selected as captain his senior year and received the team MVP award. He helped lead the Rams to OK Red Conference Championships in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and a District Championship in 2015
Tyler is also an excellent hockey player. He played travel hockey for six years. In high school, he played one year of varsity and then chose to give up the sport to focus on his football career. Tyler also participated in track and field as a sprinter for four years earning his varsity letter each spring.
