Taylor started playing football at the age of nine with the Reed City Rocket Football program. He has grown up and played with the same teammates for the past nine years. As a freshman, he started on the junior varsity and was moved up to the varsity team for playoffs. As a sophomore, he started on varsity all eleven games as a linebacker. He recorded 110 tackles. In his junior year, Taylor played offensive guard and inside linebacker and recorded 96 tackles and one interception. He helped lead his team to their first District Title in school history. Taylor’s breakout senior year ended with Reed City losing to Grand Rapids West Catholic by seven points in the District final game. Reed City finished the year with a 10-1 record. Taylor’s senior stats included 106 tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, 4 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions.
Taylor also played four years of basketball, three of those on varsity. His senior year, he received All Conference accolades. He also played one year of varsity baseball and varsity track. Taylor was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Taylor thanked his parents for, “supporting me no matter what, and always being there for me.” He also thanked all his coaches and teammates as “I wouldn’t be the person I am today without each and every one of you.” Taylor plans to play football at Michigan Tech University and study Construction Management.
