Lindrell Mitchell has been playing football since he was eight. He played little league for the Detroit Wolves, Eastside Bengals and the Eastside Cowboys. He played several positions over the course of his youth football career including: wide receiver, defensive back, corner, safety, running back, and quarterback. In high school he played at East English Village, he played varsity football starting in his sophomore year. He started at wide receiver as a sophomore and stuck to that position for the rest of his high school career. During high school, Lindrell was awarded multiple accolades including: Offensive Rookie of the Year, as a sophomore; Offensive MVP, as a junior; Wide Receiver of the Year as a senior
Lindrell received several scholarship offers to attend colleges and play football. He chose Ferris State University, “because of the intangibles they teach in building a person”.
