John started playing football in seventh grade at Smith Middle School. He has, “always enjoyed the physicality and intensity of the game.” At Troy HS, in his sophomore year, John started at varsity defensive tackle. He started at defensive end and offensive tackle during his junior and senior years and was voted a team captain in his senior year.
In addition to football, John participated in many other activities at Troy. He was a member of the varsity basketball team, and the National Honor Society and he participated in the Peer Mediation program. John earned a 3.97 GPA. He will attend the University of Michigan.
John thanked his parents and the rest of his family for, “their support and helping me in everything I do. I also thank Coach Griffith and all my other coaches for pushing me to do my best and spending all the time they did trying to improve my game.” He thanked his teammates for, “all the memories we had during our football careers.”
