Tom was a four-year starter for Catholic Central. He played both offense and defense on varsity. Tom was Most Improved Player freshman year, MVP Defense sophomore year, MVP junior and senior years. He was All City in football for three years, All State for two years. He was also All City in baseball for four years and All Area for two years. Tom played third base in the Big League Baseball World Series representing Michigan and the Central States in North Carolina. Tom also played three years of basketball. He was captain for baseball, basketball and football.
Tom was freshman class president, Student Congress representative, Peer Minister, honor roll, Principal’s Advisory Council, HOPE Volunteer, COREX Retreat Team Leader, student ambassador, Teens for Life member, and took part in other activities as well.
Tom will play football for Hillsdale College in the fall. He thanked all his family and friends for their support and encouragement. He gave special thanks to Coaches Tom and Joel Passinault, Defensive Coach Jim Galvin, Coach Geoff McManus, Coach Darren Smith and Strength and Fitness Coach Sean Parini. He also thanked his teammates and everyone at Catholic Central High School celebrating its 100 years in 2006! “It’s a great day to be a Cougar!”
