Jason was a three year starter. He played various positions including running back, wide receiver, defensive back, punt returner, kick returner, and all around kicker. Jason played both sides of the ball his second and third years. Jason helped Bay City Western to its second and third playoff berth in the schools 31 year history and its first District Championship in history. In 2002, Jason was Bay City Western’s most valuable special teams player. In 2003, Jason was most valuable offensive player and team captain. He also received the Scholar-Athlete award every year in all of his varsity sports.
Jason also participated in basketball his freshman through junior years and received honorable mention in the Saginaw Valley League his junior year. He also participated in track and field his junior and senior years. Qualifying for the state meet in high jump his junior year and breaking Bay City Western’s school record in high jump as a senior with a jump of 6’7″. Jason was also most valuable player on the track team his junior and senior years. Jason was also a member of the National Honor Society at Bay City Western.
Jason thanked his father for all their advice and support along with his grand parents, mother, brother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He “especially’ thanked his coaches for all the hard work they put in to help all the kids become a team and for all the support they gave including “help out of season.” Jason also thanked his friends.
