Caleb Higbie is the son of Stacey and Quentin Higbie. He is the twin brother of Jacob, younger brother to Meghan (21), and older brother to twins Dylan and Landon (17).
Caleb began his football career in fifth grade, playing for the Dewitt Junior Panthers. As a freshman, Caleb played slot receiver for the Dewitt junior varsity team, and moved to JV quarterback for his sophomore campaign. At the end of his sophomore season, he was moved to varsity for playoffs and started at slot receiver. As a junior, Caleb started at slot and cornerback. His senior season, he came into his own as the starting varsity quarterback, breaking school records for most completions (169), passing yards (2571), and total yards (3770) in a season. Caleb was voted team MVP by his peers in 2010, and received five Player of the Game awards from his coaches, while leading Dewitt to a regional championship and state semi-finals appearance. In addition to leading the Panthers offensively, Caleb started as a cornerback and safety, recording three interceptions and 67 tackles on defense.
Caleb thanked his family for all of the support that he has been given over the years. He also thanked his head coach, Rob Zimmerman, “for pushing me all through high school and for always having my back” He also thanked the rest of the coaching staff for helping him become “the best possible football player he could be.”
