Michael started playing football in his sophomore year at Dearborn High in 2006. He started on junior varsity and was moved up to varsity when the team went to the state semi-finals. As a junior in 2007 he earned all city playing defensive back and rushed for 450 yards as a running back in the last 4 games of the season. The team won their District Championship that year. As a senior Michael played wide receiver, running back and quarterback on offense, defensive back and returned kicks and punts. In the playoff game with Walled Lake Western, Michael scored a school record for one game with seven touchdowns. He rushed for over 1000 yards in his senior season, scored a total of 20 touchdowns and threw two TD passes. As a senior he earned All State 1st team in the Detroit Free Press and All State Dream Team as a defensive back in the Detroit News. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.
Michael also plays basketball. He was on Dearborn’s varsity for three years. As a junior he earned all city honorable mention. In addition, he ran track all four years and was on varsity, starting his sophomore year. In track, he was all city as a junior. Michael was also a Link Crew leader at school and worked as a camp counselor at Showtime basketball camp.
Michael thanked, “my mom for everything that she’s done and for making me the better man that I am today.” He thanked, “God for all he has blessed me with.” He gave a, “special thanks to coach Dave Mifsud for making me a better football player and person. Also I want to thank the entire Dearborn high school staff for everything they have done for me.”
