Andrew Hartline brought big doses of experience, enthusiasm, leadership and hard work when he stepped onto the field this year for the Lakeshore Lancers football team. Andrew was a two-year starter on the offensive line for the Lancers and logged some valuable minutes at the defensive end position. Chosen as a captain his senior year, Andrew played a vital role in leading his team to the state semi-finals in division three, and setting a school record 11 wins in one season. As a junior, Andrew was a Second Team All Conference performer in the Big 16 conference. During Andrew’s senior year he claimed several accolades including: First Team All Conference, First Team All State, Detroit News Dream Team, number 23 in the Detroit Free Press Fab 50, and 35th in the Detroit News Blue Chip list.
Andrew was also a member of the Lancers track and field team where he competed in the shot put and discus. He qualified for individual state in both events as a junior and a senior.
Andrew thanked his parents, family, friends, head coach Denny Dock, position coaches John Vroon and Steve “Graz” Graziano and coaches Buschlen, “Cveny” Cvengros and Stampfly. He also thanked, “all the wonderful people throughout the Lakeshore community that have helped me become the man I am today.”
“I had a great time playing at the varsity level and am very anxious, and excited to play at the collegiate level. I hope to see all the coaches and players at Lakeshore continue the winning tradition that I was a part of. Thank you to everyone who helped me, I am truly grateful!”
