Ben started playing organized football when he was eight years old. Ben was pulled up to varsity in week four of his sophomore season where he recorded 51 tackles. As a junior, Ben started at tight end and inside linebacker, recorded a team high 88 tackles. During Ben’s senior season, he recorded 124 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 touchdown. He received the team’s character and commitment award. Ben played multiple positions including tight end, fullback, punter, and inside linebacker. Ben lead his team to its first state playoff berth in seven years.
Ben also participated on the varsity baseball team and in basketball throughout high school. He was a two-year captain in football, baseball, and basketball. Ben maintained a 4.2 GPA and was valedictorian of his class.
Ben thanked his Mom, Dad, and brother for, “always supporting me through my ups and downs in life.” Ben thanked his high school football coach, Shane Fairfield, for, “instilling a great off-season work ethic and making me truly love playing the game of football.” Ben also thanked Jim Giddings and all of his other youth football coaches for their dedication to Holton football and all of his other coaches, teammates, fans, family members, and teachers for making him “who I am today.”
Ben will attend Muskegon Community College for a semester and then plans to transfer and play football at an Ivy or Patriot League University.
