Ryan is the son of Rick and Jill Fabbri. He has five older siblings, Scott (30), Christy (28) a graduate of Grand Valley State University, Sherri (25) a graduate of Western Michigan University, Katie (21) attending the Chicago Institute of Art, and Jimmy (19).
Ryan’s football career began as a 12 year old in the Blue Water Area Thumb League. In middle school, he played both offense and defense. As a freshman, Ryan started as the JV quarterback and returned punts and kicks. On varsity, Ryan was a three-year starter for Coach Jason Vandermaas. As a sophomore, he played wide receiver and helped his team capture a BWAC Co-Championship, District and Regional Championships and assisted the Pioneers in reaching the District 4 Semi-Finals of the MHSAA state tournament. As a junior, he played quarterback and led his team to a 7-3 record and for the first time in his school’s history, his team won the BWAC Championship outright. He was also awarded the team Most Valuable Player in both his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Ryan was a captain and led his team to another BWAC Co-Championship. He also returned punts and kicks all three years on varsity.
Ryan also played basketball and golf. He played JV basketball as a freshman and sophomore and then joined the varsity squad as a junior and senior. He was a part of the varsity golf team for all four years and helped his team win a BWAC Championship in 2009.
Ryan thanked all of his family members, friends, teammates, and coaches for their support with his sporting career. He gave a, “special thanks to my parents for always being there and making me the man I am today.” He also gave a “special thanks to all the football coaches for pushing me to be the best player that I can be.”
